Like students of today having to find work to pay their way,  Maura Erskine as a student of the 1950's had to find additional income  to help fund her living expenses. The opportunity to sing in the Albert Hall for an Alfred Hitchcock movie was an opportunity too great for a young Irish girl from Belfast to miss out on. The film stars Doris Day and James Stewart and was a major global success in 1956.

For three days Maura Erskine was part of a large choir and the above image is scene from the actual movie. She was paid £90 for 3 days work - which is approximately £1100 in todays money. She used the money   to go on a two week holiday to Spain .
