MUsical career 1972 to 1979

Maura Erskine trained as  a soprano and possesses a voice that is as beautiful as it is angelic. Her musical interest extends  from conventional classical music to traditional and medieval works that makes  her a very versatile performer with a very broad musical spectrum.

Scarlatti oratorio’s St George’s Cathedral, Southwark. Various Tudor music at Hever Castle. 

Celebration of Sir Francis Drakes circumnavigation of the globe at Middle Temple. London  Various Tudor music at Hatfield Palace. 

Music of Italian music in the 17th and 18th Centuries at the Royal Academy of Arts and Fitzwilliam Museum. Rossini’s ‘William Tell@ opera at St John’s Smith Square. Salieri at the National Theatre Salieri’s opera ‘Harlequin atta’ in the Portico, Covent Garden, London. Mozart’s ‘La Finta Semplice’ in Lamport Hall, Northamptonshire, Osterley House and Bedford College Regents Park. Mixed opera and classical music at Brocket Hall. 

Handel, Britten, Rossini and John Blow operas at York House Twickenham.
