Maura Erskine was born and raised in Belfast. Her  first public  performance was at the age of seven singing solo in the Holy Family Church , Belfast and then regularly played the organ and sang in St Patrick's Church, Belfast. These were her first formative experiences in singing and playing in public and the beginnings of  honing her musical talents, as well as love for playing and singing to a large audience.
